We actively address the international concern and requirement for an ecological assessment. Referencing the framework of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) beta version, we published the Climate-related and Nature-related Directive Guide in 2022. The risks and opportunities of climate change and biodiversity for the Group were thoroughly analysed.

For a long time, China’s energy structure has been dominated by coal. As a flexible, efficient and low-carbon energy source, natural gas has always been an important measure for the country to improve the environment and reduce carbon emissions. We support environmental policies such as “coal-to-gas” conversions and engage in relevant projects in Mainland China, enabling more customers to use efficient and convenient natural gas.

Currently, China has entered a new stage of carbon reduction. The country is working on a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system. To help China achieve an energy transition and a zero-carbon future, we are actively exploring renewable energy businesses with a focus on low- and zero-carbon energy.

Energy transition is also an integral step for Towngas Smart Energy to reach the goal of carbon neutrality. It includes the development of renewable energy, waste-to-energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency improvement, methane reduction, and other collaborative projects with universities and research institutes.
